What is an equal intersection?
An equal intersection is a place where road signs and road markings on the road surface do not determine the rules of priority. An equal intersection is a point where only paved or only unpaved roads cross. It is essential to understand when you have priority at such an intersection and when you must give way, especially if you are preparing for your CBR theory exam.

Example:
What are the priority rules at an equal intersection?
The rules of right of way at an equal intersection are simple to follow. The rules that you must apply at an equal intersection are:
- Drivers must give way to all drivers coming from their right
- Drivers must not give way to drivers coming from their left
The direction in which drivers at an equal intersection are going when they are coming from your right or left often no longer matters.
What should I do at an equal intersection with multiple drivers?
When multiple drivers approach an equal intersection from different directions at the same time, still apply the rules of: all drivers from the left must give way and all drivers from the right are given way.
Note: often when approaching equal intersections, speed bumps can be present. However, a speed bump does not affect the priority rules that apply here, as it still remains an equal intersection.

Different forms of an equal intersection:
Don’t be alarmed by the shape of an equal intersection! A T-intersection or Y-intersection without priority signs or traffic signals is simply equal, the same priority rules still apply: all drivers from the left go last and all drivers from the right go first!
Example 1: Y-intersection
Answer: Here we go last, because the red car comes from the right at an equal Y-intersection!
Example 2: T-iunction
Answer: We go here first, because the red car comes from the left at an equal T-intersection!
